EUSP opens the position of Associate Professor in Arctic Social Studies
The position of Associate Professor in Arctic Social Studies will be filled through an open international competition in accordance with "Temporary Statute on Competition to Fill a Vacancy of Professor" of 7th March 2012.
The aim of establishing the position is to further develop the Arctic Social Studies program, first and foremost research in Siberia and the Russian Arctic.
The position of Associate Professor includes funds for the position of the Associate Professor (one full-time position), and (for those from other cities or other countries) a grant covering the cost of two trips annually from St Petersburg to the present place of residence and the cost of accommodation in St Petersburg.
Eligibility:
The candidates for the position of Associate Professor in Arctic Social Studies will
• have the degree of Ph.D. or Kandidat of sciences received no less than three years prior to the application deadline
• have no less than two-year experience of university-level teaching and (or) experience of academic research in Arctic social sciences
• have, over the last three years, academic publications in Arctic social sciences, including those in international peer-review publications
• have a good command of English and Russian
The Associate Professor in Arctic Social Studies will
• teach lecture and seminar courses within the program of Department of Anthropology "Introduction to Arctic Social Studies"
• do research within the field of Arctic social studies
• assist administratively both the educational and research activities of the program
The position of Associate Professor in Arctic Social Studies opens on September 1st 2013 for three years.
