On May, 4-6 the annual alumni conference took place in Berlin. It was held in free and easy atmosphere with socializing.  The central event was the official Assembly of the Alumni Association on May, 5.

On 29th February Andrei Kudryavtsev, Professor at the Department of Economics, successfully defended his Doctor of Science Disseration

Having heard a report by Ludvig Faddeev, the academician-secretary of the Department of Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences on the letter signed by the members of the Department of Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences concerning the support  of the Russian mathematician Nikolai Luzin, Presidium of the Academy DECREES: to overturn the decision made by the Soviet Academy of Sciences on August 5th, 1936 (minutes № 16)

On 20th February the Institute for Humanities and Arts at the Ural Federal University held a public lecture by the prominent Russian art historian and Head of the Department of Art History at EUSP, Ilya Doronchenkov.
