The Development Office of the European University at St. Petersburg (EUSP) was created in 2005 to contribute to the realization of the University’s goals as set out in its strategic plan. The Development Office will accomplish this task by broadening EUSP’s impact, both in Russia and on the international academic scene, while continuing to promote quality education and research and ensure financial sustainability.
The Development Office is designed to run fundraising campaigns and seek information that will attract philanthropic support, enabling the EUSP to maintain and strengthen its position as one of the leading international post-graduate schools in the social sciences and humanities in Russia.
EUSP Development Office establishes partnerships with individuals, corporations, and foundations to attract philanthropic support towards three main areas:
• academic programs (both teaching and research)
• scholarships and capital infrastructure (including the renovation of the University’s historical building)
• modernization of the library and computer lab.
EUSP is registered as a non-profit, non-governmental postgraduate institution in Russia. In 2007 EUSP has registered first ever university endowment fund in St. Petersburg and the second ever in Russia. In 2004 the Fund for the European University at St. Petersburg was also established in the US as a dedicated tax-exempt «friends» organization registered in Michigan under section 501 (c) (3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code (EIN 59-3780793).
